What is a static plan?
A static plan repeats the same weekly workouts without any automatic progression. You choose the weights and sets yourself. It fits lifters who follow their own or a coach's program, or who want to hold their strength through a busy stretch, and still want every session logged and tracked.
Best for: following your own or a coach's program. A static plan runs 4-8 weeks and repeats the same week throughout.
How it works
- 01Build your week: pick the days, then the exercises for each day from the exercise library.
- 02Set your own sets, reps and weights, straight from your coach, your book or your head.
- 03Log every session. The plan repeats each week and the app never changes your numbers.
- 04Watch the stats: weekly sets per muscle, PRs and your full history in one timeline.
Static or progressive?
Want the app to pick your weights instead? That's what the progressive plans are for.
- Linear progression adds weight every week you hit your reps. Best in your first year or two.
- Mesocycles ramp sets and effort over a block, then deload. Best for size once you have a year under the bar.
- Compare all three side by side.
Static plan FAQ
- Why would I use a plan that does not progress?
- Because you already have a program. Coaches, sport seasons and books all come with their own progression, and a static plan lets you log it without the app overriding your numbers.
- Do I still get stats and PRs?
- Yes. Every set lands in your timeline, weekly sets per muscle are counted and new records get called out, same as any other plan.
- When should I switch to a progressive plan?
- When your own progression stops working or you would rather not think about it. Linear progression suits newer lifters, mesocycles suit experienced lifters training for size.
